Snapchat: You don't have the right role to create ads
You can’t create or edit the campaign because your role on the Snapchat organisation or ad account is too limited. An admin can grant the right access in a minute.
What you’ll see
Section titled “What you’ll see”An error that you don’t have permission to create/edit the campaign, change billing, or manage the account.
What this means
Section titled “What this means”Snapchat has roles at two levels — the organisation/business and the ad account — and each role allows different actions. A view-only or limited role can’t create ads or change billing.
Why it happened
Section titled “Why it happened”- You were added with a Member / limited role rather than an admin/manager role.
- You’re trying to do something (like billing) that only an admin can do.
How to fix it
Section titled “How to fix it”- Ask an Organisation Admin (or Business Admin) to update your access.
- They go to Snapchat Business Manager → Members / Roles.
- They grant you the right role:
- Ad account: Campaign Manager (or Account Admin) to create/edit ads.
- Organisation: Admin to change business details or payments. 👉 Roles & permissions
- Once updated, Relaunch.
How to know it worked
Section titled “How to know it worked”You can open and edit the campaign (and billing, if that was the issue) without the permission error.
