Meta: Payment failed or card declined
Meta tried to charge your card and it didn’t go through, so your ads paused. Updating or adding a payment method gets you back up and running.
What you’ll see
Section titled “What you’ll see”We couldn’t process your payment
…or ads that stopped with an outstanding balance.
What this means
Section titled “What this means”Meta charges your payment method as you spend. When a charge fails, ads pause until the balance is paid and a working payment method is in place.
Why it happened
Section titled “Why it happened”- The card expired, had insufficient funds, or the bank declined the charge.
- Wrong card details (CVV / billing address mismatch).
- No valid payment method on the account.
How to fix it
Section titled “How to fix it”- Open Meta Billing → Payment settings.
- Add a new payment method or fix the existing one (update card / expiry / billing address).
- Click Pay now to clear any outstanding balance.
- Add a backup payment method so this doesn’t happen again.
- Return to markXpand and Relaunch.
How to know it worked
Section titled “How to know it worked”The balance shows as paid and your ads resume delivering.
