Google Ads: Advertiser identity verification
Google asks advertisers to verify their identity. There’s usually a deadline attached, so it’s worth doing promptly — but it’s a straightforward set of steps.

What this means

Why it happened
Section titled “Why it happened”- Google’s transparency programme requires it for more and more advertisers.
- Or a risk signal / your industry triggered it.
How to fix it
Section titled “How to fix it”- Go to Google Ads → Admin → Account status / the verification notice (ads.google.com/aw/policy/account).
- Answer the questions about your organisation.
- Submit the requested proof — typically a government ID, phone verification, and confirming your payment method. Details must match your payments profile.
- Submit before the deadline; Google usually reviews within a few business days.
