Google Ads: Confirm your payment ('Fix it')

Google sometimes needs to confirm your payment method before ads keep running. Usually it’s as simple as entering a short code or making a payment.

A red “Fix it” banner, or an email from noreply-payments@google.com, asking you to verify your payment information. The account may be paused.

Google is verifying that the payment method (and the person behind it) is genuine. It’s a fraud-prevention step.

  • Routine payment verification on a new or higher-spending account.
  • A risk or suspicious-activity signal on the payment method.

Google offers one or more of these — do the one it asks for:

  1. Enter a verification code — Google makes a small charge (often the last 6 digits / a code on your statement); enter that code in Google Ads.
  2. Make a payment toward your balance to confirm the method works.
  3. Upload a government ID if Google requests identity confirmation.

Document reviews usually finish within 5 business days. Then Relaunch.

The “Fix it” banner disappears and the account is active again.

It helps to include a screenshot of the banner (don’t send card numbers).
