Meta: Declare a Special Ad Category
If your ad is about housing, jobs, credit, financial products, or social/political issues, Meta requires you to declare it as a Special Ad Category. This protects against unfair targeting — and it changes which targeting options you can use.

…or targeting options (like gender, narrow age, or postal code) greyed out or rejected.
What this means
Section titled “What this means”Meta limits how these sensitive ad types can be targeted. You must declare the category, and then some targeting options are no longer available.
Why it happened

How to fix it

- Adjust targeting to what’s allowed — typically you can’t target by gender, narrow age, detailed demographics, or postal code, and lookalikes are limited.
